Researchers believe that eating a large meal (digesting an excessive amount of food can be very taxing) or all the work to prepare it are more likely the cause of the fatigue.

Eating late in the evening is counterproductive if you want to sleep well. One reason is that lying down is not conducive to good digestion. On top of this, acid reflux or heartburn is more likely to occur.
