Natural Remedies for Acne
That Keep Skin Young, Clear and Fresh

Natural remedies for acne are much gentler tnan other medications. Let's face it: just about everyone has had trouble with acne at some point during their life. For most people this occurs during adolescence when the body’s hormone levels are changing, but acne also flares up during other periods of life.

Acne is caused when the sebaceous glands overproduce oils and clog the pores. This occurs most commonly on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, and the upper arms. Acne includes blackheads, little raised bumps known as pustules, and in more severe cases hardened cysts underneath the skin.

Acne is caused by changes in the hormone levels, poor diet, and even chronic constipation. In fact changing your diet is the most common of the natural remedies for acne. Eating at irregular hours can throw off the body’s natural balance and can lead to acne.

Eating fatty foods, foods high in sugar or starch can also irritate the sebaceous glands causing them to over produce oil. Eliminating these foods from your diet can clear up simple cases of acne without any further action necessary.

A diet high in red meat and without an adequate amount of water can lead to constipation which is a contributing factor to acne flare-ups. When you are  constipated your body is unable to properly process food which leads to having toxins in the bloodstream which then affects your entire system. However, if you are still having acne issues even after changing your diet there are still a number of natural remedies for acne that you can use. For example, making a paste from peppermint leaves is a very popular remedy.

Peppermint consists of menthol which is naturally analgesic and reduces inflammation. This plant is also incredibly easy to grow so you could even grow your own peppermint. Take a handful of the leaves and crush them using a mortar and pestle. Then rub this on the affected area and leave for about 10-20 minutes.

If you would prefer to use a premade remedy, one of our favorites is ClearSkin-A Acne Gel . It contains natural ingredients like tea tree oil, burdock, rooibos, ginger and lemon grass which are natural anti-inflammatories that soothe the skin, eliminate zits and restore the pH balance without causing dryness or irritation. Use it in combination with ClearSkin Skin Wash for an inexpensive daily regimen that works. The gel is great for eliminating pimples.

Aloe vera is another of the acne natural remedies you can try. Specifically, you want aloe barbadensis which is a very common houseplant. Remove an entire leaf close to the trunk of the plant. Cut a slit down the middle of the leaf and allow the yellow latex to drain away. Once this yellow fluid has seeped out, use a serrated knife to remove the outer skin of the leaf. Inside you will find the aloe gel which can be applied directly to the skin.

This pure form of aloe will soothe the reddened, irritated skin. The anti-inflammatory properties of the aloe will help get rid of the actual bumps. The gel also contains a natural antibiotic helping to prevent future breakouts.

While having brief acne flare-ups is perfectly normal, there’s no reason to suffer when there are so many effective natural remedies for acne.
